Bushland Dakolo Says Police Forced Her To Sign Letter Countering Rape Case
August 7, 2019 •Busola Dakolo, wife of singer, Timi Dakolo, has revealed that she was compelled by police at gunpoint to sign a document countering the rape allegations against Biodun Fatoyinbo, Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).
She narrated this in an interview with UK Guardian, where she also recounted how she was forced into a van by armed men, who made her speak with their superior in Pidgin.
The contents of the letter, she said, were leveled against her and her husband.
“One was holding a gun and the second, a letter. They told me they were from IG’s office in Abuja and that I needed to sign this letter and acknowledge it.
Our culture doesn’t allow speaking of these sorts of things against men of God. They’d rather hide it, and the party that is being victimized tends to live with that self-shame. The damage on the survivor is extremely terrible but the society, the church keeps sweeping things under the carpet”.

Busola Dakolo had accused Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her in Ilorin, Kwara State when she was 16. Many Nigerians have reacted to the rape case, urging the police and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to investigate the case.
